Grandparenting From a Distance

Maintaining close relationships between grandparents and grandchildren is a challenge when grandparents do not live near their children and grandchildren. Here are some ways grandparents can build family closeness no matter where they live.
• Children love to get mail.
• Share photos.
• Call and speak solely to your grandchild.
• Send a tape of your voice reading a book or talking to them.
Regardless of distance, grandparents can build strong family bonds that tell their grandchildren they are cared about and loved.
